Copy and complete each of the Diamond Problems below. The pattern used in the Diamond Problems is shown below.

Generic Diamond Problem. One number, X, is located on the left side. The second number, Y, is located on the right side. The bottom number is the sum of the two numbers, X and Y. The top number is the product of the two numbers, X and Y.

Find out what values are missing from the diamond. (Is the -value missing? -value? value? value?)

If the and value are missing, find what values can equal the top number, and what values equal the bottom number.

If the value and the value are missing, use the values you do have (the value and the value) and multiply them together for the top value and add them together for the bottom value.

If the value and the value are missing: To find : Find what number multiplied by equals the top number. To find : Use the value you found and the value given and add them together.

If the and value are missing: To find : Use the value given and the value and subtract the value from the value. To find : Use the value you found and the value given and multiply.
