Look at the two histograms below. They give you information about the heights of players on two basketball teams, the Tigers and the Panthers. Use the histograms to answer the following questions.

Histogram titled, Tigers, and labeled Height of Players, on the horizontal axis, scaled in equal segments of 3, from 63 to 81.  Number of Players is labeled, on the vertical axis, scaled by ones from 0 to 6. Starting at the left, each segment has the following bar heights: 1, 0, 2, 5, 3, 1.       Histogram titled, Panthers, and labeled, Height of Players, on the horizontal axis, scaled in equal segments of 3, from 63 to 81.   Number of Players is labeled, on the vertical axis, scaled by ones from 0 to 6. Starting at the left, each segment has the following bar heights: 1, 3, 1, 2, 3, 2.

  1. Which team has taller players? Which has shorter players? Explain your thinking.

  • Which team has a greater number of players with heights above 72'' or greater average height?

  • Compare the histograms of both teams and consider measures of spread to determine which team has taller or shorter players.
