5-48.

Graph the lines $y=2x−3$ and $y=−x+3$. 5-48 HW eTool (Desmos). Homework Help ✎

1. Where do they intersect? Label the point on the graph.

At what coordinate do the lines cross?

2. Find the point of intersection using the Equal Values Method. That is, start by combining both equations into one equation that you can solve for $x$.

Set both equations equal to each other.

Get all the $x$ terms on one side.

Substitute this value into one of the original equations to solve for $y$.

$2x−3=−x+3$

$3x=6$

$x=2$

$(2,1)$

3. Which method is easier, graphing or using algebra to solve?
