$y = 2x + 1 \\y = −3x − 4$
Hint (a):
Set the two equations equal to each other, then solve for $x$ .
Step 1 (a):
$-3x - 4= 2x +1$
Step 2 (a):
$−4 − 1 = 2x + 3x$

$y = \frac { 1 } { 3 }x + 4\\y = \frac { 1 } { 2 }x − 2$
