Find the equation of the exponential function $y=ab^x$ passing through the points $(2,3.84)$ and $(3,3.072)$ .

Step 1:

Substitute the points into the equation.
$3.84=ab^2$
$3.072=ab^3$

Step 2:

Solve $3.84=ab^2$ for $a$ , then substitute that into the other equation and solve for $b$ .

Step 3:

Once you have solved for $b$ , substitute that value back into one of the original equations and solve for $a$ .
