Write an equation for the line containing the points listed in the table.

$f(x)$	$4$	$-11$	$10$	$31$

Step 1:

Select two points from the table. Find the rise and run from the one point to the other. Then divide the rise by the run. That will give you the slope.

Step 2:

Substitute the slope for $m$ in the equation below. Then substitute the $x$ and $y$ coordinates for one of the points on the table for $x$ and $y$ , respectively. Then solve for $b$ .

$y=mx+b$

Answer:

$y=3x-5$
