Complete the scaling for each number line or set of axes.  

  1. A number line with 7, equally spaced, marks, labeled as follows, from left to right: First, 32, fifth, 64.

    Determine the size of each interval.

    Add to or subtract from the numbers on the given points in order to fill in the missing numbers.

    The number line marks have these added labels : Second, 40, fifth, 64.  Below, arrow points to 40, labeled, 32 + 8, and another arrow points to 56 labeled, 64 minus 8.

  1. A number line has 7 marks, labeled as follows, from left to right, first, 0 and fifth, 1.

    Follow the steps given for part (a).

  1. First quadrant graph, x axis with 3, equally spaced, marks, with the third one labeled, 9. y axis with 3, equally spaced, marks, second one labeled, 1.

    Remember that the point where the axes intersect is on both axes.

    Fill in each axis as you did the two number lines above. Remember that the two axes may have different scaling.
