Is the second equation equivalent to the first? Check the Order of Operations.

The multiplication has to be done before the subtraction.

If you got

$x=\frac{4}{7},\ \ \ \ x=\frac{9}{7},\ \ \ \ \text{ or }x = 1$

you made an error. Now find your own mistake. Check your distributing. If you got something else, see if it makes the equation true.

$3x+2=10-4\left(x-1\right)$

$3x+2=6\left(x-1\right)$

$3x+2=6x-6$

$8=3x\ \text{so } x=\frac{8}{3}$
