5-27.

On your own graph paper, draw a rectangle with a width of 6 cm and a height of 8 cm. Homework Help ✎

1. Draw a similar rectangle that is enlarged to 300%.

To enlarge a rectangle to 300% of its original size is to enlarge by a ratio of 3:1.

The width is 18 cm and the height is 24 cm.

2. Draw a similar rectangle with lengths that are $\frac { 2 } { 3 }$ of the original lengths.

• What is two thirds of 6? What is two thirds of 8? These will be the lengths of the sides of the new rectangle.
