7-52.
1. Simplify each of the following expressions. Homework Help ✎

1. 5.2 +

2. 3 − 2.75

For parts (a), (b), and (c), find the common denominators of both fractions, then divide the numerators to find the answer.

$\frac{2}{3}=\frac{8}{12}$

$\frac{2}{3}\div\frac{1}{12}=\frac{8}{12}\div\frac{1}{12}=8\div1$

8

2

For part (d), change the mixed number to a fraction and then multiply.

$\frac{a}{b}\cdot\frac{c}{d}=\frac{a \cdot\ c}{b \cdot\ d}$

$\text{If\ \frac{7}{10}\ is\ equal\ to\ 0.7,\\ can\ you}$

$\text{add\ the\ decimals?}$

$5.9,\ \text{or}\ 5\frac{9}{10}$

$3\frac{2}{5} = 3\frac{4}{10} = 3.4$
