Find the volume and surface area of a box with dimensions of cm by cm by cm.

Drawing the box may help you picture it.

The volume of a box is (area of base) (height), or in this case (length) (width) (height).

The surface area of a box is the sum of the areas of its individual faces.

Remember to multiply mixed numbers, you must first convert them to fractions greater than one.

A box, with height: 1 and 1 fourth cm, length: 5 and one half cm, and width:  4 and one third cm.
