  1. A right triangle, with one angle labeled 38 degrees. The side opposite the 38 degree angle, is extended, creating a linear pair, with the left angle labeled, x.

    Angle is an exterior angle.

    An exterior angle is equal to the sum of the two remote interior angles.

  1. 2 horizontal parallel lines, are crossed by a transversal line, with angles labeled as follows: Upper intersection: interior right, 82 degrees.  Lower intersection, exterior left, x.

    Vertical angles are always congruent. The angle that is vertical to is also supplementary to the given angle.
