2-10.

For the following problem, define a variable and write an equation (use the 5-D Process if needed). Then solve the equation to solve the problem. Write your solution as a sentence.

A cable meters long is cut into two pieces so that one piece is meters longer than the other. Find the length of each piece of cable.  

Remember that the 5-D Process has the following steps: Describe, Define, Do, Decide, and Declare.

Perform the Do and Decide steps. For the Do step, note that one piece is m longer than the other piece.
