  1. Ryan and Janelle are each driving from a different location to meet. When they each stopped for lunch at 12 noon, they called each other on their cell phones. Ryan had traveled 245 miles in 3 hours. Janelle had driven 260 miles in 4 hours.

For each driver, find the speed they traveled by dividing the miles they had driven by the amount of time they had been driving.

Janelle had been driving at 65 miles per hour, since 260 miles divided by 4 hours is equal to 65 miles in each hour. Can you find Ryan's speed?

Write an equation to find the time (x) until they have traveled 910 miles total. Their rates of travel should be coefficients of x.
