Solve each equation by first rewriting the expressions in each part with the same base. Refer to problem 10-24 if you need a reminder.

1.  $8^x=2^6$

Since $8=2^3,(2^3)^x=2^6$

$2^{(3x)}=2^6$

$3x=6$

$x=2$

1.  $9^2=3^{2x+1}$

$(3^2)^2=3^{2x+1}$

$x=1.5$

1.  $4^{2x}=\left(\frac{1}{2}\right)^{x+5}$

Use the same method as part (a).

Remember that $\frac{1}{2}=2^{-1}.$
