10-83.

Solve each equation by first rewriting it in a more useful form. Homework Help ✎

1. $25^2=125^{x+1}$

$x=\frac{1}{3}$

1. $\frac{x}{5}+\frac{x-1}{3}=2$

Multiply by a common multiple to cancel out the fractions.

1. $x^2−4x+4=25$

The left side is a perfect square.

$x=7\ \text{or}\ −3$

1. $9^x=\left(\frac{1}{3}\right)^{x+3}$

$\frac{1}{3}=3^{-1}$

$x=−1$
