2-72.

Evaluate the following expressions. Homework Help ✎

Change the mixed numbers into fractions.

1. $8\frac{2}{5}\div3\frac{1}{4}$

$8\frac{2}{5}=8(5)+2=\frac{42}{5}$

Remember that when you divide fractions, you multiply by the reciprocal.

$\frac{42}{5}\times\frac{4}{13}=\frac{168}{65}=2\frac{38}{65}$

$2\frac{38}{65}$

1. $5\frac{1}{2}·(-6\frac{3}{4})$

1. $−3\frac{5}{8}-1\frac{1}{2}$

1. $−7+\frac{2}{3}$

$-6\frac{1}{3}$
