Solve each equation for the variable. Check your solutions, if possible.

1. $8a+a-3=6a-2a-3$

Isolate the variable on one side of the equation, with the integers on the other side.

1. $8(3m-2)-7m=0$

Distribute before solving the equation.

1. $\frac{x}{2}+1=6$

Multiply each term of the equation by $2$ in order to cancel out the fraction.

1. $\left|x-3\right|+5=11$
