Without a calculator, compute the value of each expression below.
Use the Commutative Property of Addition and your understanding of minus signs to make this a subtraction problem.
When you multiply two numbers with the same sign, you will always get a positive result.
Change the subtraction into an addition
Simplify before multiplying
Multiply from left to right, finding the correct sign for each step before moving on.
Division uses the same rules
for signs as multiplication.
