2-97.

Simplify each radical expression.

1. $( 3 \sqrt { 2 } ) ^ { 2 }$

$\left(3\sqrt{2}\right)\left(3\sqrt{2}\right)$

$18$

1. $\sqrt { \frac { 9 } { 4 } }$

Find the square root of both the numerator and denominator.

$\frac{3}{2}$

1. $\sqrt { \frac { 1 } { 3 } }$

Think of this as $\sqrt{\frac{3}{9}}$. Then refer to part (b).

1. $( 3 + \sqrt { 2 } ) ^ { 2 }$

$\left(3+\sqrt{2}\right)\left(3+\sqrt{2}\right)$
