4-87. This problem is a checkpoint for solving for one variable in an equation with two or more variables. It will be referred to as Checkpoint 4B.

Rewrite the following equations so that you could enter them into a graphing calculator. In other words, solve for $y$.

1. $x − 3(y + 2) = 6$

1. $\frac { 6 x - 1 } { y } - 3 = 2$

1. $\sqrt { y - 4 } = x + 1$

1. $\sqrt { y + 4 } = x + 2$

Check your answers by referring to the Checkpoint 4B materials located at the back of your book.

Ideally, at this point you are comfortable working with these types of problems and can solve them correctly.
