The *x*-intercepts occur when *y* = 0.

0 = (*x* − 2)(*x* + 1)

Use the Zero Product Property to solve:

*x* − 2 = 0 or *x* + 1 = 0

Set *y* equal to 0.

Factor.

One of the factors is (*x* + 5). What is the other factor?
