3. $\frac { 2 x } { 5 } - \frac { 1 } { 3 } = \frac { 137 } { 3 }$ 

   Hint (c):

   Multiply each term by the common denominator of $3\ \text{and}\ 5$.

   Answer (c):

   $x=115$

4. $\frac { 4 x - 1 } { x + 1 } = x - 1$ 

   Hint (d):

   Use the same method as in part (b).
