Solve each equation below for $y$ so that it can be entered in the graphing calculator.

1. $x^2=x(2x−4)+y$

First, distribute the x. Then set the equation equal to $y$ and combine like terms.

2. $x=3+(y−5)^2$

First, subtract $3$ from both sides of the equation. Then take the square root of both sides and set the equation equal to $y$.
Notice there are two results.
