Change each equation to graphing form. For each equation, find the domain and range and determine if it is a function.

1. $y = −2x^{2} − x + 13$

Factor the terms containing $x$ so the coefficient of $x^2 \ \text{is}\ 1$, then complete the square.

$y=-2\left(x^{2}+\frac{1}{2}x\right)+13$

$y=-2\left(x^{2}+\frac{1}{2}x+\frac{1}{16}\right)-(-2)\left(\frac{1}{16}\right)+13$

$y=-2\left(x+\frac{1}{4}\right)^{2}+\frac{105}{8}$

1. $y = −3x^{2} − 6x + 12$
