1-15.

The shapes at right are examples of equilateral triangles. How can you describe an equilateral triangle? Examine them and make at least two statements that seem true for all equilateral triangles. Then trace these equilateral triangles on your paper and draw one more in a different orientation.

A large triangle ,with all equal sides, with one side horizontal. A smaller triangle, with all equal sides, to the right, with one side diagonal from upper left to lower right. The figures are labeled Examples of Equilateral Triangles.

  • What do these triangles have in common?

They have sides of equal length.
They have angles of equal measures.

A triangle, with all equal sides, with one side diagonal from lower left to upper right.
