  1. Stacks of cubes, with the front, right, and top sides visible, arranged as follows: To the right, of a stack of 3 cubes, is a stack of 2 cubes, To the right of the stack of 2, is 1 cube, & to the left of the stack of 2, is 1 cube, To the left of the first stack of 3 cubes, is a stack of 2, & to the left of this stack of 2, is 1 cube.

  1. Did you have to make any assumptions about hidden cubes when you drew the mat plans? If so, what assumptions did you make in each case and why?

Look at the mat plan in part (a). How many cubes could there be in the upper left corner?

  1. What other view would you need to see to be sure how many cubes there are? Explain.
