Determine which similarity conjectures () could be used to establish that the following pairs of triangles are similar. List as many as you can.  

  1. Two triangles. Triangle at left with side lengths 3, 5, and 4. Triangle at right with side lengths 3.6, 6, and 4.8.

    Pay attention to the angles as well as the side lengths.

  1. Two triangles. Triangle at left with sides, 2 units and 3.5 units . An angle, 80 degrees, is between the 2 sides.  The angle opposite the side with 2 units is 30 degrees. Triangle at right with sides 4 units and 7 units. An angle, 80 degrees, is between the 2 sides.  The angle opposite the side with 4 units is 30 degrees.

  1. Two triangles. Left triangle with side length 4 and a 40 degree angle to the left of it. Right triangle with side length 4 and a 40 degree angle to the left of it.

  • Not enough information is given to establish similarity. No similarity condition can be used.
