For each diagram below, write an equation and solve for , if possible.  

  1. Two adjacent angles together form a 90 degree angle. The angle on the left is 3 x + 3 degrees. The angle on the right is x + 7 degrees.

    The two angles are complementary.

  1. A transversal line cuts two parallel lines. About the point of intersection of the top parallel line and the transversal is the interior right angle, 9, x + 4 degrees. About the point of intersection of the bottom parallel line and the transversal is the interior left angle, 3, x + 14 degrees.

    The two angles are congruent.
