Solve the following equations for the given variable, if possible. Remember to check your answers.

1. $6x^2=150$

Isolate the $x^2$. There are two solutions to this equation.

1. $4m+3-m=3(m+1)$

All numbers, because the expressions on both sides are the same $3m+3=3m+3$

1. $\sqrt{5x-1}=3$

Start by squaring both sides.

1. $(k-4)^2=-3$

No real numbers, because any number squared is a positive number, so $(k-4)^2\ne-3$.
