7-84.

A diagram of a kitchen showing the perimeter of a triangle connecting the Refrigerator F, to the stove and sink. The distance between F and the sink is 7.2 feet. The interior angle of the triangle at the sink is 101 degrees. Along the counter edges and the distance from the sink to the stove forms a right triangle. The leg on the sink side is 7 feet. The leg on the stove side is 3 feet. The guidelines set forth by the National Kitchen & Bath Association recommends that the perimeter of the triangle connecting the refrigerator (F), stove, and sink of a kitchen be feet or less. Lashayia is planning to renovate her kitchen and has chosen the design at right. Does her design conform to the National Kitchen and Bath Association’s guidelines? Show how you got your answer. Redraw and label the diagram as needed.

Use the Pythagorean Theorem to determine the distance between the stove and sink. Then the Law of Cosines to calculate the remaining side length of the triangle.
