This problem is a checkpoint for periodic functions. It will be referred to as Checkpoint 12.

For each trigonometric function determine the amplitude and period of the graph and sketch at least two cycles of the graph. Describe the graph as it relates to the parent function.

Write an equation for each of the following graphs.

  1. Repeating wave curve, first visible high & low points: (negative 3 pi halves, comma 2) & (negative pi halves, comma 0), continuing in that pattern, just past 2 pi.

  1. Repeating wave curve, first visible high & low points: (negative 2 pi, comma 1) & (negative 3 pi halves, comma negative 1), continuing in that pattern, just past 2 pi.

Check your answers by referring to the Checkpoint 12 materials located at the back of your book.
