Sketch a graph of $y = 1 − x^3$. Then complete the following approach statements. .

1. As $x → ∞, y$ approaches?

As $x →∞$, the $y$-values keep going down.

As $x →∞, y→−∞$

2. As $x → −∞$, $y$ approaches?

As $x →−∞$, do the $y$-values go up, down, or do they level off to a horizontal asymptote?

3. As $x → 0^−$ ($0$ from the left), $y$ approaches?

Follow the curve towards $x = 0$ from the left of that point. What $y$-value do you predict?
