4-149.

Use your calculator to approximate the following limits, accurate to three decimal places.

1. $\lim\limits_ { x \rightarrow 1 } \frac { 2 ^ { x } - 2 } { 3 ^ { x } - 3 }$

$≈ 0.42$

2. $\lim\limits _ { x \rightarrow 0 } \frac { 1 - \operatorname { cos } ( x ) } { x ^ { 2 } }$

It is important to recognize what skills you have and what skills you do not have. Think about why you are not expected to compute these limits without a calculator.
