If :

  1. What is the slope of the line?

In the equation of a line, slope.

  2. What is the y-intercept of the line?

In the equation of the line, -intercept.

  3. Graph the line.

  • Plot the -intercept and then use the slope (the numerator is the change in the -value and the denominator is the change in the -value) to find another point, and draw a line connecting the points. You should be able to draw a slope triangle on your graph that matches the slope you found in part (a).

Use the eTool below to graph the line and determine the slope and -intercept.
