Solve each equation below for the given variable. Check your solutions if possible.

1. $\frac { 4 x } { 5 } = \frac { x - 2 } { 7 }$

What is the common multiple between $5$ and $7$? Multiply both sides of the equation by that number (Multiplication Property of Equality).

2. $- 3 ( 2 b - 7 ) = - 3 b + 21 - 3 b$
