Simplify each expression.

1. $\frac { 5 } { 4 } \div \frac { 7 } { 16 }$

When you divide a fraction, you are also multiplying by its reciprocal.

$\frac{5}{4}\cdot\frac{16}{7}$

$\frac{20}{7}\ =2\frac{6}{7}$

1. $- \frac { 10 } { 13 } \cdot \frac { 5 } { 11 }$

Multiply the numerators and the denominators. Be sure to account for the negative sign.

1. $\frac { 9 } { 11 } \div ( - \frac { 20 } { 21 } )$

$\frac{9}{11}\cdot\left(-\frac{21}{20}\right)$

1. $- \frac { 8 } { 3 } \div ( - \frac { 5 } { 18 } )$
