1. $y=-\frac{1}{3}x-5$

• Substitute $−3$ for $x$ and solve for $y$.

${{y} = -\frac{1}{3}x - 5}$

$y=-\frac{1}{3}(-3)-5$

$y=1-5=-4$

1. $y=2x^2−3x−2$

• The square of a negative number is always a positive number.

$y=25$

1. $2x−5y=4$

• $y=−2$
