5-44.

Solve the equations. Check your solutions.

1. $(6x-18)(3x+2)=0$

Use the Zero Product Property.

$x = 3\text{ or }x = -\frac{2}{3}$

1. $x^2-7x+10=0$

1. $2x^2+2x-12=0$

Start by factoring out the greatest common factor. Then use the Zero Product Property.

1. $4x^2-1=0$

Factor this as a difference of squares.

1. $x^2=9$

$x=-3$ or $3$

1. $x^2-2x+1=0$
