Solve each equation below for $x$.

Rewrite each equation so that the bases are equal.

1. $16^{3/4} = 4^x$

$(4^2)^{3/4} = 4^x$

$4^{6/4} = 4^x$

$\frac{3}{2} = x$

1. $8^{1/3} = 4^x$

Use the same method as part (a) and a base of $2$.

1. $3^{4x} = 9^2$

$x = 1$

1. $( \frac { 1 } { 2 } ) ^ { x }= 4$

$\bigg(\frac{1}{2}\bigg)^{x}=2^{-x}$
