Where does the graph of each function below intersect the $x$-axis?

1. $f\left(x\right) = \left(x + 3\right)^{2} – 5$

Set $f\left(x\right)$ equal to $0$ and solve for $x$.

$(-3 \pm \sqrt{5}, 0)$

2. $f\left(x\right) = \left(x – 74\right)^{2}\left(x + 29\right)$
