1. log2(x) + log2(x – 2) = 3

2. log(2x) – log(x2) = –2

Combine into one log on the left side. Then undo on both sides.

$2^{\log_{2}\left(\left(x\right)\left(x-2\right)\right)}=2^{3}$

$\log_{2}\left(\left(x\right)\left(x-2\right)\right)=3$

$(x)(x-2)=8$

$x^{2}-2x-8=0$

$(x-4)(x+2)=0$

$x=4\text{ or }x=-2\text{ (log input must be positive)}$

Follow a similar process as part (a). Don't forget that the (−) sign means to divide the terms instead of multiply!
