Solve the following equations.

1. $\frac { 3 } { x } = \frac { 5 } { x - 7 }$

Multiply both sides of the equation by the common denominator.

Simplify and combine like terms.

1. $\frac { 2 x + 3 } { 4 } - \frac { x - 7 } { 6 } = \frac { 2 x - 3 } { 12 }$

Follow the same steps from part (a) and remember to distribute the negative sign.

$x = −13$
