Below are two of the special angles that are used in the unit circle. Identify the radian measure for the angles shown. Remember counter-clockwise angles are positive and clockwise angles are negative.

  1. Unit circle, point in third quadrant, about 1 third of the way from negative y axis, segment from center to point, curved clockwise arrow from positive x axis, to the segment.

    Added to unit circle, segment in fourth quadrant, same distance from negative y axis, creating 2 highlighted sectors, from positive x axis, central angles each labeled 60 degrees.

  1. Unit circle, point in second quadrant, about 1 third of the way from negative x axis, segment from center to point, curved counter clockwise arrow from positive x axis, circling through all axes, continuing through positive y axis a second time, ending at the segment.

    It went around the entire unit circle once before going again.

    Added to unit circle, segments in first and second quadrant, creating 5 highlighted equal sectors from positive x axis to the original segment, each labeled 30 degrees.
