Solve for $x:3x+wx=20$ (Note that your answer will have $w$ in it.)

Since both $x$'s are on the same side of the equation, factor.

$x(3+w)=20$

Since both $x$'s are on the same side of the equation, factor.

$x(3+w)=20$

The left side of the equation contains multiplication, so divide.

$\frac{x(3+w)}{(3+w)}=\frac{20}{(3+w)}$
