Let $g ( x ) = \left\{ \begin{array} { l l } { 3 + x ^ { 2 } } & { \text { if } x < - 2 } \\ { 2 x } & { \text { if } - 2 \leq x < 1 } \\ { 11 - x ^ { 2 } } & { \text { if } \quad x \geq 1 } \end{array} \right.$. Evaluate:

1. $g(3)$

x = 3, so in this case, x ≥ 1. Therefore, use the third piece of the function.

$g(3)=11-3^2$

1. $g(-1)$

x = −1, so in this case, −2 ≤ x ≤ 1. Therefore, use the second piece of the function.

1. $g(-2)$

x = −2, so in this case, −2 ≤ x ≤ 1. Therefore, use the second piece of the function.

1. $g(4)$
