1-114.

Given $f(x)=x^2+1$, $g(x)=2x-8$, and $h(x)=\frac{1}{2}x+1$. Write an equation for each of the following operations.

Be sure to show all steps leading to the answer.

1. $f(x)+g(x)$

$f(x)+g(x)=x^2+1+2x-8$

1. $g(x)h(x)$

$g(x)h(x)=(2x-8)\Big(\frac{1}{2}x+1\Big)$

1. $g(h(x))$

$g(h(x))=g\Big(\frac{1}{2}x+1\Big)$

1. $f(f(x))$

$f(f(x))=f(x^2+1)$
