$f(x) = \frac { x + 1 } { x ^ { 2 } - 5 x - 6 }$
Step (a):
$f(x)=\frac{x+1}{(x+1)(x-6)}$

$g(x) = \frac { x ^ { 2 } - 5 x - 6 } { x + 1 }$
Hint (b):
This is the reciprocal of the function in part (a).
