12-62.

Rewrite each of the following expressions as a single, simplified fraction.

1. $xy^{−1} − yx^{−1}$

Multiply the expression by a Giant One with $xy$ in both the numerator and denominator.

1. $(x^{−1} − x)(x^{−1} + x)$

$x^{-2}+x^0-x^0-x^2$

1. $\frac { y ^ { - 2 } - 1 } { y ^ { - 2 } }$

Multiply the expression by a Giant One with $y^{2}$ in both the numerator and denominator.

1. $\frac { 1 } { x - y } + \frac { 1 } { x + y }$

$\frac{x+y}{(x-y)(x+y)}+\frac{x-y}{(x-y)(x+y)}$
