Steady Freddy always drives his car at a constant rate of miles per hour.

The velocity is the slope (or rate of change) or the position function.
Position can be determined by calculating the area under the curve of a velocity function.

  1. Write an equation for Freddy’s velocity as a function of time. Sketch a graph of this function.

  2. How far has Freddy traveled after hour? After hours? After hours?

  3. Using your answers to part (b), what is Freddy’s position as a function of time?

  4. How is Freddy’s position function related to the graph of Freddy’s velocity function?

  5. How is Freddy’s velocity function related to his position function?
